We welcome you to the 2025 webinar program with our first session on Wednesday 5 February. This was a FREE session, open to all to attend.
Join us as Joshua Cohen, Nurse Practitioner Specialist Palliative Care, Northern NSW Local Health District leads a conversation about navigating Tricky Pain: Pancreatic Cancer Pain.
Sarah Begley, Clinical Nurse Educator, PCNA Committee Member and PCA Board member will be moderating this session.
This session will be conversation style, and areas of discussion could include:
An explain the mechanisms and pathophysiology of pancreatic cancer pain?
Clues from a client's history, imaging, or pain examination indicate that their pain might be related to pancreatic cancer?
Why is pancreatic cancer pain often resistant to traditional pain treatments?
What pharmacological treatments or regimens are recommended for managing pancreatic cancer pain?
Are there interventional therapies that may help with this type of pain? Which patients might be eligible?
How do you balance the goal of pain relief with the potential impact on a patient's quality of life, especially when higher doses or aggressive treatments might limit their functionality or alertness?
